Traditional culture, Central Highlands gongs, and the sense of national unity are long-standing beauties in the lives of Gia Lai people.

Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee said that the province will organize the first Gia Lai Provincial Ethnic Culture Festival in 2026, expected to take place on two days, April 25 and 26, 2026 (Saturday and Sunday) at Dai Doan Ket Square and Pleiku Museum (Pleiku ward).

Participating in the festival were artisan delegations from many ethnic groups in the province; coaches and martial arts students performing Binh Dinh traditional martial arts along with a large number of artists inside and outside the province.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Lich - Vice Chairwoman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee affirmed: "The event aims to preserve and promote traditional cultural values, and at the same time promote the image and cultural identity of Gia Lai ethnic minorities to tourists. This is also an opportunity for ethnic communities to meet, exchange, and share experiences in cultural preservation, contributing to tightening the spirit of solidarity in the province.

The festival is also associated with propaganda activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Uncle Ho's letter to the Congress of Southern ethnic minorities in Pleiku (April 19, 1946 - April 19, 2026), emphasizing President Ho Chi Minh's great unity ideology, as well as the national policies of the Party and State. Through this, reflecting changes in the material and spiritual life of ethnic minorities, contributing to educating patriotism and solidarity.

Within the framework of the festival, many unique activities will take place such as: painting and photo exhibitions about Uncle Ho with Gia Lai ethnic groups; folk cake making contest; specialty coffee experience space; display and introduction of typical products and OCOP products of the province...

In particular, the space for folk art performances of ethnic groups is organized from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM for two days at Dai Doan Ket Square. Each participating delegation is arranged with an area to recreate traditional cultural life like a "mini village", with folk art performances, festivals, cuisine...

Artisan Dinh Thi Khop (To Tung commune) said: "Participating in the Ethnic Culture Festival is a great honor for the people in the village. We bring traditional gongs and chiengs, dances associated with the daily life of the Bahnar people. Through the festival, we want to introduce the unique culture of our ethnic group to tourists, and at the same time pass on to the younger generation pride and awareness of preserving the heritage of our ancestors.

Meanwhile, artisan Ro Cham Nha (Ia Phi commune) expressed his excitement when participating in the performance at the cultural space of the festival. According to him, this is an opportunity for artisans to meet, exchange and learn from each other.

“We not only perform but also introduce cuisine and traditional crafts of the Jrai ethnic group. I hope that through these activities, tourists will understand more about the life, customs and habits of the people, thereby further loving and cherishing the culture of Gia Lai ethnic groups” - artisan Ro Cham Nha said.

The festival promises to create a unique cultural space, contributing to attracting tourists and spreading the traditional values of ethnic groups in Gia Lai province.
