The banh xeo skin is made from rice flour, has a bright yellow color from turmeric and the aroma of coconut milk. The filling is made from many different ingredients including minced meat, shrimp, bean sprouts. When enjoying banh xeo, diners often roll the cake with mustard greens, lettuce, herbs and dip it in sweet and sour fish sauce.
Along with banh xeo, Hue’s banh khoai has been ranked 56th with 4.1/5 stars by this culinary site. The dough is made from a mixture of rice flour, water, eggs, sugar and salt. What makes this dish so special is the dipping sauce made from minced pork and liver with sesame, peanuts, pork floss, onions, garlic, etc.
