"Banh mi" officially became one of the new 370 words of the famous dictionary in the US. Accordingly, Banh Mi is described as a sandwich that is often spicy in Vietnamese cuisine, including baguette shells, pork or chicken cloves, pickled cucumbers (including carrots or radishes), and coriander and cucumber.
The origin of banh mi is said to be from the French word "paine de Mie", meaning soft white banh mi. The cake is cut in half and eaten with available ingredients.
Asean Express commented that banh mi has become a rising star on the world culinary map. This popular specialty has long been a favorite morning gift of Vietnamese people, widely sold all over the streets and diners can buy it right away.
