Unique festival to honor ancient snow Shan tea in Suoi Giang

Lao Cai - On November 22, in Suoi Giang, Van Chan commune, the Lao Cai Province Shan Tuyet Tea Festival in 2025 officially opened, with the theme "Scent of tea on the cloud".

The program was attended by leaders of departments and branches of Lao Cai province, many tourists from all over the country and local people.

The opening ceremony was an impressive drone performance. Next is the tea ceremony of local tea ceremony, in harmony with the sound of the H'Mong flute performed by artisans.

The special highlight is the art program "Scent of Tea on the Clouds", staged and performed by local people, recreating the image of the ancestral tea tree on stage, combined with dances and songs imbued with the cultural identity of the Northwest.

In his opening speech, the leader of Van Chan commune emphasized that the people and local authorities always consider tea trees as a source of pride, a treasure that nature has favored.

Every year, Shan Tuyet Van Chan sweet soup brings in an output of about 2,000 tons of fresh buds, becoming an important source of livelihood, helping hundreds of households escape poverty, stabilize their lives and gradually get rich right on their homeland.

In recent times, under the close attention and direction of the province, the commune has implemented many synchronous solutions to preserve, promote and enhance the value of the ancient snow Shan tea tree.

To date, Van Chan has 13 tea products that have met OCOP, of which 10 products have met 4-star standards, affirming their superior quality, competitiveness in the market and gradually reaching the international market.

The activities in the opening program vividly recreated the cultural life and people of Suoi Giang in the journey to turn Shan Tuyet tea into the world's best tea. Visitors can directly experience the stages of making tea and practicing tea making under the enthusiastic guidance of local artisans and tea traders.

At the festival, visitors can enjoy attractive activities, such as: Dandruff Broken Festival and offers Tray Contest. In particular, the impressive drone performance transported the fresh tea buds picked this morning to the festival space, where they were processed into famous, high-value tea forms, attracting the attention of attendees.

The festival is a major activity in the series of activities of the Red River - Lao Cai Festival 2025.
