On November 4, the Steering Committee for Tourism Development of Lao Cai province held a conference to deploy tasks for the last two months of 2025.
The conference was held in a direct and online combination, with the main bridges at the provincial level and bridges in communes and wards.
According to the report, in the first 10 months of 2025, Lao Cai welcomed 9,400,694 visitors, of which international visitors are estimated at 1,195,242.
It is estimated that the whole year of 2025 will welcome about 10,512 thousand visitors, of which international visitors are estimated to reach over 1.5 million. Total revenue from tourism is estimated at about VND 46,593 billion.
Currently, Lao Cai province has 2,138 accommodation facilities with about 20,600 rooms. A chain of high-end services has been formed with 5 5-star hotels and 9 4-star hotels, mainly concentrated in Sa Pa National Tourist Area and Lao Cai Ward.
Community tourism is developing strongly, the whole province has a total of 740 homestay establishments, basically meeting the trend of experiential tourism, exploring villages of tourists. The average room occupancy rate is estimated at 65-70% on peak weekends or holidays and Tet.
The whole province has recognized 37 tourist areas and destinations (1 Sa Pa National Tourist Area, 2 provincial tourist areas: Lao Cai and Bac Ha and 34 tourist destinations), creating a clear regional network of connections...
