Landing in Hanoi in early October, Nick K plans to cycle across Vietnam from north to south. The American guy explored the culture and cuisine of the region while traveling and creating a vlog to share on his personal YouTube channel. In the first leg, Nick cycled from Hanoi to Hai Phong.
Coming to Hai Phong port city, Nick K cannot miss the experience of a food tour. YouTuber My shared: "In Hai Phong, just going out to eat becomes an interesting culinary adventure. Every ten steps I see a new dish and want to try it right away".
After wandering around, Nick tried all the street foods such as grilled chicken feet, toast, tofu, rolls... At the end of the session, he still wanted to find a Hai Phong specialty that he had been introduced to and "stamped" on his Google map by a friend.

The crab noodle shop is located in a small alley on Tran Phu Street, the center of Hai Phong City. The restaurant is near the Dermatology Hospital, so it is also known as the Dermatology Crab over-the-counter cake.
"I think the food is delicious wherever customers have to sit in the alley," Nick commented.
The restaurant has tables and chairs along a small alley, with an electric fan installed right above, so diners are not afraid of the heat when eating. When he arrived at the Nick shop, he immediately noticed the basket of red banh da and he was surprised and exclaimed: "Look, the shop is really clean".
A bowl of crab noodle soup here has delicious, rich broth, especially lots of dried onions and fat. A bowl of mixed fruits will have full toppings from fish, shrimp, lotus leaf cake, spring rolls, meat, water spinach...

Da Lieu Crab Bread restaurant has been around for a long time but always maintains its quality and price. This is always one of the top choices for locals and tourists when they want to enjoy the Hai Phong crab noodle specialty.
The restaurant is usually open in the evening. The menu includes many types of crab noodles from fish noodles, fish noodles, shrimp, pork filling to the most popular dish, mixed copper crab noodles.
Looking at his mixed copper crab bowl, Nick confessed that he did not know that any part of the bowl was "copper". American diners excitedly tried a few spoons of broth first and then ate the last banh da, hoping that the bowl of banh da cua would "fill" their empty stomachs.

Although he did not know all the ingredients of Hai Phong crab noodle soup, Nick praised each piece. Finally, he commented: "Up to now, this is definitely my favorite dish".
