In 2025, Michelin Guide's culinary guide will return to Vietnam with a list of excellent restaurants in the three cities of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang. The announcement ceremony of the list of Michelin-starred restaurants and awards took place on the evening of June 5 in Da Nang.
Not only honoring the selected food establishments, the event is also a place to connect the culinary communities of the three regions, contributing to spreading inspiration and promoting the development of Vietnamese cuisine in the international arena.

The list announced at this year's event includes: prestigious Michelin-starred restaurants, the Bib Gourmand award (reservoired restaurant and restaurant for delicious food at reasonable prices), Michelin Selected (meeting Michelin Guide selection standards), and Michelin's special awards to honor outstanding individuals in the culinary industry.
Selected by anonymous reviewers, the restaurants on the list must meet 5 global criteria: quality of ingredients, cooking skills, harmony of flavors, personality of the chef expressed through the dish, and consistency over time.
In particular, Michelin stars are divided into three levels, reflecting the different levels of excellence of restaurants.
A Michelin star for restaurants that are very good in their segment, with high-quality dishes, worth paying attention to.
Restaurants with excellent culinary experiences, enough to convince diners to go around the roads to experience will be awarded 2 stars.
The 3 Michelin stars are the highest level, awarded to restaurants that are especially excellent, where diners are willing to make their own plans, even if they have to travel a long distance, just to enjoy the top culinary experience.
The event is not only an opportunity to honor outstanding individuals and units in the culinary field, but also creates opportunities for the parties to exchange, cooperate and develop.
A special highlight is the presence of guest chefs from MICHELIN and MICHELIN Selected star-studded restaurants at this year's event. Notable are coach Davide Garavaglia from 2-star Cote restaurant in Bangkok (Thailand), along with chefs Yun Dae-hyun and Hee-Eun Kim from 1-star soul restaurant in Korea.
Chefs from Michelin-starred restaurants in Vietnam such as Sam Aisbett (Akuna), Quang Dung (Chapter), Olivier Corti (Le Comptoir) and Madame Binh (Luk Lak Da Nang) were also present at the event.
Michelin Guide will officially launch in Vietnam in 2023, marking an important step forward for Vietnamese cuisine on the world culinary map.
The first two cities to be added to the list are Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. By 2024, Da Nang will also be added to this prestigious assessment system.
To date, Vietnam has a total of 7 Michelin-starred restaurants, including: Anan Saigon, Akuna and The Royal Pavilion in Ho Chi Minh City; Gia, Hibana by Koki and Tam Vi in Hanoi; and La Maison 1888 in Da Nang.
In 2024, there will be 58 food and beverage addresses with Bib Gourmand title and 99 establishments on the Michelin Selected list, showing the diversity, uniqueness and constant development of Vietnamese cuisine on the world map.
