Banh xeo is a rustic specialty found everywhere in the West, but banh xeo at Cam mountain is different. All kinds of wild vegetables such as wild mustard greens, kim that, ginseng, ma de, la cach, cat loi (sugarcane)... "breathe the air" of the Seven Mountains region, combined with banh xeo will balance the fatty taste with a strange astringent taste, as if gathering all the "delicacies of the world".
One special thing about eating banh xeo at Nui Cam, An Giang is that regardless of how many portions the customer orders, the staff will immediately bring up a full plate of wild vegetables. Customers can take as many types of vegetables as they like from the counter.
A restaurant owner said that banh xeo is served with about 30 types of vegetables from Cam Mountain. Each type has its own unique flavor, some vegetables are considered good medicine for health according to folk experience. The filling has green beans, shrimp, meat, cassava... filled inside the thin, crispy, golden crust.
Phan Hieu Ky, a tourist from Vinh Long, said: "I was afraid that eating banh xeo would have a lot of starch and make me fat. However, the banh xeo here is thin and is served with many types of wild vegetables that I don't even know the names of. Eating banh xeo with wild vegetables in the mountains is truly a memorable experience!"
