Spicy fish noodle soup is a famous specialty of Hai Phong. Mr. Duong Chanh Tin - owner of a restaurant on Hoang Ngan Street (Cau Giay, Hanoi) said that his spicy fish noodle shop has been open for nearly two years.
“My wife is from Hai Phong, and since her husband and I have been doing this job for many years, they have taught us how to prepare it. I myself am passionate about cooking and want to bring the unique spicy fish noodle flavor of Hai Phong to Hanoi diners,” Mr. Tin shared.
The owner shared that the restaurant uses three main types of fish: catfish, tilapia, and mackerel. Many ingredients such as catfish, mackerel, and fish cakes are imported directly from Hai Phong, ensuring quality and retaining the characteristic flavor.
The broth is simmered from pork and fish bones, combined with pineapple, onion, radish and ginger to remove the fishy smell and add natural sweetness, bringing a refreshing and rich flavor.
Ms. Trieu Thi Kieu (Cau Giay), a regular customer of the restaurant, shared: "The spicy fish noodle soup here is very suitable for my taste. The broth is sour, spicy, rich, and the crispy fried fish pieces make me feel very delicious."
Ms. Pham Minh Nguyet (Cau Giay), another diner, said: “The bowl of noodles here is full with lots of fish and delicious broth. The price is also reasonable so I often come to the restaurant.”
Every day, the restaurant serves about 200 bowls of noodles with prices ranging from 35,000 to 55,000 VND/bowl, suitable for many types of customers.
