According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the low pressure area in the East Sea has strengthened into a tropical depression.
As of 13:00 on August 4th, the center of the tropical depression is located at about 17.0 degrees North latitude - 119.7 degrees East longitude, over the sea southeast of the Northern East Sea area. The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression reaches level 6 (39-49 km/h), gusting to level 8.
The tropical depression is moving in a Northwest direction at a speed of 5-10 km/h.
It is forecasted that by 1:00 AM on August 5th, the tropical depression will move slowly in the East direction, still maintaining intensity level 6, gusting to level 8 in the sea area southeast of the Northern East Sea area. Disaster risk level due to strong winds at sea is level 3.
By 1:00 PM on August 5th, the tropical depression is expected to move in the East-Southeast direction at a speed of about 10 km/h, enter the area north of Luzon Island (Philippines) and gradually weaken into a low pressure area, intensity below level 6.
Due to the influence of the tropical depression, in the afternoon and night of August 4, the sea area southeast of the Northern East Sea area has strong winds of level 6, gusts of level 8; sea waves are 2-3 m high, rough seas.
The meteorological agency notes that ships operating in dangerous areas are at risk of being affected by thunderstorms, tornadoes, strong winds and large waves.
