According to the latest storm forecast from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), a tropical depression is about to form near the East Sea, outside the country's responsibility area.
As of 8:00 a.m. this morning (local time), the center of the low pressure was at about 12.5 degrees North latitude - 137.1 degrees East longitude, 1,355 km east of Eastern Visayas.
The low pressure is forecast to have a high probability of developing into a tropical depression in the next 24 hours.

This low pressure is also forecast to continue to strengthen into a storm, crossing the Philippine sea and mainland and then entering the East Sea. If it becomes a storm, it will be the 12th storm to enter the East Sea this year.
