According to storm news, the latest low pressure from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, a new tropical depression has formed in the East Sea.

As of 7:00 AM on August 18, the center of the tropical depression is located at about 19.8 degrees North latitude - 117.6 degrees East longitude, over the sea area east of the Northern East Sea area. The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression reaches level 6, gusting to level 8. The tropical depression is moving slowly in a westerly direction at a speed of about 5 km/h.

Forecast for the next 24 hours, the tropical depression will continue to move in a West direction at a speed of about 10 km/h. By 7:00 AM on August 19, the center of the tropical depression is forecast to be at about 19.9 degrees North latitude - 115.3 degrees East longitude, still in the sea area east of the Northern East Sea. Wind intensity maintained at level 6, gusts at level 8. Disaster risk level: level 3 for the sea area northeast of the East Sea.

By 7:00 AM on August 20, the tropical depression will move in a West-Northwest direction at a speed of about 10 km/h. The center of the low pressure at that time is likely to be at about 20.1 degrees North latitude - 113.2 degrees East longitude, about 740 km east-northeast of Hainan Island (China). Wind intensity continues to be at level 6, gusts at level 8. The Northern East Sea area, including the Hoang Sa special zone, is warned of disaster risk level 3.

In the next 48-72 hours, the tropical depression will continue to move in a West-Northwest direction, traveling about 5-10 km per hour. The meteorological agency warns that the system's developments may continue to cause dangerous weather at sea.

Due to the influence of the tropical depression, the sea area east of the Northern East Sea area has strong winds of level 6, gusts of level 8. Sea waves are 2.0-3.5 m high, rough seas.
