Storm No. 1 Maysak is forecast to make landfall for the 2nd time today 4. 7.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, storm No. 1 Maysak has left Hainan Island (China) to return to the East Sea.

By 9 am this morning, the center of storm No. 1 was located at about 20.2 degrees North latitude - 108.1 degrees East longitude, about 40km east of Bach Long Vi special zone (Hai Phong), about 145km southeast of Mong Cai (Quang Ninh).

The strongest wind near the storm center reaches level 8-9 (62-88km/h), gusting to level 11. Forecast for the next 3 hours, the storm will move in a Northwest direction, speed about 15km/h.

Forecast to 7:00 PM today, the storm will move in a North-Northwest direction at a speed of about 15 km/h, the storm's center is in the Vietnam - China border area, at a position of about 21.6 degrees North latitude - 107.9 degrees East longitude. Storm intensity reaches level 8-9, gusts level 11.

Disaster risk level 3 is warned for the Gulf of Tonkin (including Bach Long Vi, Van Don, Co To, Cat Hai, Hon Dau island special zones) and coastal sea areas of provinces from Quang Ninh to Hung Yen.

Due to the impact of the storm, the Gulf of Tonkin area (including Bach Long Vi, Van Don, Co To, Cat Hai special zones and Hon Dau island) has strong winds of level 6-7, near the storm center level 8-9, gusts of level 11; sea waves are 2.0-4.5m high, very rough seas. This is the area directly affected by the storm's circulation on July 4.

On land, from noon to this afternoon, the coast of Quang Ninh, Hai Phong and Hung Yen provinces and cities will have strong winds of level 6, near the storm center level 7-8, gusts of level 9-10. Sea waves are 2.0-3.5m high, combined with storm surge of about 0.2-0.4m.

From this morning to the end of July 5, the Northeast region and Thanh Hoa will have heavy to very heavy rain, common rainfall from 100-200mm; especially the Northeast region from 200-300mm, locally over 500mm. People in these areas need to be wary of the risk of prolonged heavy rain during the storm's impact.

Due to the impact of the storm's circulation, it is necessary to prevent the risk of thunderstorms, tornadoes and strong gusts of wind both before and during the storm's landfall.
