The rain forecast from the National Meteorological Center (NMC) for China from May 28-29 shows that China's southern provinces will experience the heaviest rainfall since the beginning of the year, according to Xinhua.
A low pressure trough currently operating in southern China is tending to move towards the mainland of northern Vietnam.
From the evening of May 28, the rainy area due to the influence of the low pressure groove will start from the mountainous areas of the Northern provinces, then spread to the midland and plain, coastal areas.
By around May 29, the heavy rain will expand to the North Central provinces.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from the evening of May 28 to May 29, the Northern region will have rain, with common rainfall from 30-90mm, locally over 180mm.
From early morning and on May 29, rain will spread to the North Central region, with common rainfall of 30-50mm, locally over 100mm.
From the afternoon of May 28 to May 29, the Central Highlands and the South will continue to have rain, with common rainfall from 30-60mm, locally over 100mm. There is a risk of local heavy rains, exceeding 100mm within 3 hours.
On the night of May 29, the Northwest and Northern Delta regions will have rain with a common amount of 15-30mm, locally over 60mm.
Other areas in the North, Central Highlands and South from the night of May 29 will have heavy rain with a decreasing trend.
However, on the night of May 29 and early morning of May 30, the North Central region will continue to have rain, with common rainfall of 20-40mm, locally over 70mm.
From May 30 onwards, heavy rain tends to decrease widely.
People and tourists should regularly monitor weather reports, warnings of heavy rain, flash floods, and landslides from authorities.
Limit going out during thunderstorms; especially in the late afternoon and at night - when tornadoes, lightning, and hail are likely to occur.
Tourists should avoid trekking, mountain climbing, and forest travel on May 28-30 due to the risk of landslides and flash floods in the northern mountainous areas. Do not travel on mountain passes or slippery roads at night or during heavy rain. Always notify relatives or accommodation establishments of the route to ensure safety in emergency situations.
