A low pressure area is forecast to move over the East Sea, affecting the weather in the central and southern sea areas.

According to the latest weather forecast from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), as of 4:00 p.m. on May 27 (local time), a low pressure area was monitored in the East Sea, outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). This low pressure is unlikely to develop into a tropical storm within the next 24 hours.

Due to the influence of the low pressure trough, the Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi and Palawan will have gloomy skies, scattered thunderstorms and thunderstorms. Floods and landslides may appear due to the impact of heavy rains.

Meanwhile, the low pressure in the East Sea also affects the sea area of Central Vietnam.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on May 27, in the southern Gulf of Tonkin, the sea area from Quang Tri to Hue, the northern East Sea (including the sea area of Hoang Sa archipelago), the Central and South East Sea (including the sea area of Truong Sa archipelago) there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms.

Forecast for the day and night of May 27, in the southern Gulf of Tonkin, the sea area from Quang Tri to Ninh Thuan, the sea area from Ca Mau to Kien Giang and the Gulf of Thailand, the North East Sea area (including Hoang Sa archipelago), the Central and South East Sea area (including Truong Sa archipelago) there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms.

During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes and strong gusts of wind of level 67, waves over 2.0m high. All ships operating in the above areas are at risk of being affected by tornadoes and strong gusts of wind.

On land, on May 27, in the South Central region, the Central Highlands and the South, there will be local showers and thunderstorms.

From the evening of May 28 to May 29, in the Northern region, there will be moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain with common rainfall from 30-90mm, locally over 180mm. From early morning and on May 29, in the North Central region, there will be moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain with common rainfall of 30-50mm, locally over 100mm.

In addition, in the late afternoon and evening of May 27, in the Central Highlands and the South, from Binh Dinh to Binh Thuan, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall from 15-30mm, locally over 60mm.

From the afternoon of May 28 to May 29, in the Central Highlands and the South, there will be moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain with common rainfall of 30-60mm, locally over 100mm. Warning of the risk of local heavy rain (>100mm/3 hours).

People and tourists should be on guard during thunderstorms with the possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.
