According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 13:00 on July 24, the center of Typhoon Noul was located at about 18.7 degrees North latitude - 122.6 degrees East longitude, about 90km east-northeast of Luzon Island (Philippines).
The strongest wind near the storm center reached level 8-9 (62-88km/h), gusting to level 12. The storm is moving in a West-Northwest direction at a speed of about 25km/h.
Forecast from the night of July 24 to the early morning of July 25, the storm will enter the northeastern sea area of the Northern East Sea, officially becoming storm No. 2 operating in the East Sea in 2026. After entering the East Sea, the storm will continue to strengthen.
By 1:00 PM on July 25th, the storm center is forecast to be at about 21.3 degrees North latitude - 117.9 degrees East longitude, in the Northeast sea area of the Northern East Sea, about 430km east-southeast of Hong Kong (China).
The storm is likely to strengthen to level 10-11, gusting to level 13. Disaster risk level 3 for the northeastern sea area of the Northern East Sea.
By 1:00 PM on July 26th, the storm will move in a West-Northwest direction at a speed of 15-20km/h, entering the mainland area southeast of Guangdong province (China). The storm will gradually weaken to level 8-9, gusting to level 11. The disaster risk level continues to be level 3 for the northeastern sea area of the Northern East Sea.
By 1:00 AM on July 27, the storm will turn North-Northwest at a speed of 15-20km/h, go deep into the mainland east of Guangdong province (China), weaken into a tropical depression, then continue to weaken into a low pressure area.
According to the meteorological agency, with a probability of over 80%, Typhoon Noul will make landfall in Guangdong province (China), with little possibility of directly affecting the mainland of Vietnam.
Due to the impact of the storm, from the evening of July 24, the northeastern sea area of the Northern East Sea will gradually have winds increasing to level 6-7, then increasing to level 8-9; the area near the storm center will be strong at level 10-11, gusting at level 13. Sea waves are 3-5m high, especially the area near the storm center is 4-6m high, the sea is violently rough.
The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting warns that ships operating in dangerous areas are at high risk of being affected by thunderstorms, tornadoes, strong winds and large waves. The next bulletin will be broadcast at 8:00 PM on July 24.
