According to storm news, the latest low pressure from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), a low pressure is strengthening near the East Sea.
As of 8 am this morning (local time), the center of the low pressure was located at about 13.3 degrees North latitude - 133.6 degrees East longitude, entering the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). The low pressure is moving westward, towards the East Sea.
The strongest wind near the center of the low pressure reached 45 km/h. PAGASA forecasts that the low pressure is highly likely to strengthen into a tropical depression or storm in the next 24 hours.
Due to the influence of the low pressure, the Southeast Luzon area and the Visayas region have scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally moderate to heavy rain.
In the East Sea, according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, early this morning, July 22, the area of the Northern Gulf of Tonkin and the eastern sea area of the Central East Sea and the Southern East Sea area will have scattered showers and thunderstorms.
Forecast for the day and night of July 22, the area of the Northern Gulf of Tonkin, the eastern sea area of the Central East Sea and the Southern East Sea area (including the Truong Sa special zone) will have showers and scattered thunderstorms.In thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, strong gusts of level 6-7, sea waves over 2.0m high.
All ships operating in the above areas are at risk of being affected by tornadoes, strong gusts of wind and high sea waves.
