Cold air forecast
The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has updated the weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow (November 26) in areas across the country.
The Northern and North Central regions generally have no rain, cold at night and in the morning, and some mountainous areas in the North are very cold. The highlands of the North are wary of the possibility of frost.
Due to the influence of cold air combined with disturbances in the high-altitude East wind zone, in the areas of Hue, Da Nang and the east of Quang Ngai province on the night of November 25, there will be scattered showers, locally heavy rain and thunderstorms; from November 26, the rain will decrease.
With the situation of cold air combined with high-altitude easterly wind disturbances causing scattered rain, locally heavy rain and thunderstorms on the night of November 25, people in Hue, Da Nang and the eastern part of Quang Ngai province should note:
Limit travel at night, especially on steep, slippery mountain passes.
Be careful when traveling through low-lying areas, rivers and streams, beware of local flooding or sudden rising water.
Avoid taking shelter under trees, advertising signs, and temporary structures during thunderstorms to prevent strong gusts of wind.
In the Southern region, there is a forecast of scattered showers and thunderstorms at night; sunny during the day.
Natural disaster warning
Notably, today (November 25), the People's Committee of Quang Tri province has decided to declare a natural disaster emergency for the landslide in the Hung Vuong road area in village 3A (Khe Sanh commune, Quang Tri province).
Previously, on November 16 and 17, in Quang Tri province, there was prolonged heavy rain, causing landslides that broke and collapsed part of the house at 74 Hung Vuong Street and more than 10 neighboring houses.
The landslide and slide area is about 170m long, the slope is 15m deep, 30m wide, the total area is about over 5,000m2 and there are signs of continued landslides.
Khe Sanh Commune People's Committee was forced to urgently evacuate 10 households with 45 people at risk of being unsafe.
Accordingly, people in this area need to proactively monitor the authorities' announcement and prepare evacuation plans in case the risk of landslides continues to increase.
Tourists to this area should limit access to landslide warning points, follow the instructions of authorities and avoid moving into dangerous areas in bad weather.
