According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from the evening of June 8, cold air combined with upper-level wind convergence will cause moderate to heavy rain on a large scale in the North. Hanoi is one of the localities directly affected by this weather spell.
On June 9, Hanoi weather is cloudy, with moderate rain. The highest temperature is only about 29 degrees Celsius, 6 - 8 degrees Celsius lower than in previous days, while the lowest temperature drops to about 23-25 degrees Celsius. This is considered a fairly pleasant temperature for the beginning of summer.
On June 10, the Capital area continued to maintain a cloudy state, with showers, temperature fluctuating from 25 - 31 degrees C. By June 11, showers and thunderstorms still appeared sporadically, the base temperature fluctuated little with the highest level about 31 degrees C and the lowest level 27 degrees C.

Meteorological experts believe this is a rare cold air wave in mid-June. Statistics show that in the period 1979 - 2025, 25 cold air waves appeared in June, but from 2014 to now, almost no wave has had a clear impact on the North.
Due to the impact of rain and cold air, Hanoi will have about 3 days of significantly cooler weather than the hot spell at the beginning of the month. However, this state does not last long.
From June 12, rain will decrease rapidly, the weather will turn cloudy, and the temperature will increase to 34 degrees Celsius. This is considered a transitional period before hot weather returns.
Forecast from June 13 to June 15, Hanoi is generally cloudy, hot sunny with the highest temperature from 36 degrees C, the lowest temperature from 28 - 30 degrees C. The temperature increases by about 5 - 7 degrees C compared to the beginning of the week.
Notably, from June 16 to June 17, hot weather tends to increase in intensity. The highest temperature in Hanoi can reach 37 degrees Celsius, the lowest is about 30 degrees Celsius. Cloudy skies, strong sunshine lasting throughout the day, the feeling outside may be hotter than the forecast temperature due to the effect of concretization and heat radiation in the inner city area.
Thus, after a sharp drop in temperature due to cold air, Hanoi will experience about 3-4 days of thunderstorms and cool weather before entering a new heat wave from this weekend.
This cooldown brings a rare pleasant time in the middle of Hanoi summer, creating favorable conditions for people and tourists to experience sightseeing, street walking and culinary discovery activities.
However, thunderstorms may appear suddenly in the period from June 9 - 11, so tourists need to proactively prepare travel plans and limit staying in large green areas or places at risk of flooding when heavy rain occurs.
