Visitors to the Northwest region on May 23 should pay attention to hot weather during the day, but in the late afternoon and night there is a possibility of thunderstorms accompanied by tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind:
- Prepare thin, light clothes that absorb sweat well; bring thin jackets because the nighttime temperature in some places can be below 24 degrees Celsius.
- Hot sunny days, in some places above 37 degrees Celsius, so limit outdoor movement in the middle of the day.
- Drink enough water, wear a hat, sunglasses and use sunscreen when sightseeing outdoors.
- Bring raincoats, umbrellas and anti-slip shoes because showers and thunderstorms may appear in the late afternoon and night.
- Monitor weather forecasts regularly to proactively adjust travel schedules, trekking or cloud hunting.
- Limit going through mountain passes, streams or landslide-prone areas when thunderstorms appear.
- When there are thunderstorms, lightning or strong gusts of wind, it is necessary to find a safe shelter, avoid standing near tall trees, cliffs or open areas.
