The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting updates the weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow (May 21) in regions across the country.
In the evening and night of May 21, the Northern region will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, common rainfall of 10-30mm, locally over 60mm. The Central Highlands and Southeast regions will also experience showers and thunderstorms, with heavy rain in some places over 50mm.
In thunderstorms, people need to be wary of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. Localized heavy rain can cause flooding in low-lying areas, flash floods on small rivers and streams, and landslides in hilly areas. Warning of natural disaster risks due to tornadoes, lightning and hail at level 1.
From the night of May 21 to May 23, the Northern region maintains a night with showers and thunderstorms in some places, sunny during the day. Especially in the Northern Delta and southern Phu Tho province, hot sun appears, with intense heat in some places.
The area from Thanh Hoa to Da Nang and the east of provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak also have hot weather on May 22-23, locally with intense hot weather in some places.
Other areas in the late afternoon and night have showers and thunderstorms in some places; especially the South continues to have scattered showers in the late afternoon and evening.
From May 23-27, the North is forecast to experience widespread hot weather. After May 27, showers and thunderstorms tend to return in the late afternoon and night.
The area from Thanh Hoa to Da Nang and the eastern provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak maintain widespread hot weather until about May 27-28, then gradually decrease.
The South continues to have showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon. From about May 27, rain tends to increase, locally moderate to heavy rain with strong thunderstorms.
Especially in the Central Highlands region, from the end of May, showers and thunderstorms will gradually increase, mainly concentrated in the late afternoon and evening.
