According to new weather news from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, today, August 23, the tropical depression has officially made landfall in the East Sea.
It is forecasted that at 7:00 a.m. this morning, the tropical depression will move in a West-Northwest direction at a speed of about 15 km/h and continue to strengthen.
The center of the tropical depression is located at about 18.0 degrees North latitude - 118.2 degrees East longitude, in the eastern sea of the North East Sea; 730km East Northeast of Hoang Sa Special Zone.
The strongest wind in the storm center is level 7, gusting to level 9. Natural disaster risk level: level 3 for the eastern part of the North East Sea.
The tropical depression is forecast to strengthen into a storm in the next 24 hours.
Due to the influence of the tropical depression, the North East Sea area has strong winds of level 6-7, then increased to level 8, the area near the storm's eye has level 9-10, gusting to level 12. Waves are 3.05.0m high, near the center of the storm 4.0-6.0m. The sea is very rough.
On land, the Northern region will have cloudy skies, moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms at night and in the morning, with some places having very heavy rain. The highest temperature is from 30-33 degrees Celsius, some places above 33 degrees Celsius.
The area from Thanh Hoa to Hue and the South Central Coast will be cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms; in the late afternoon and evening, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms. The highest temperature is from 31-34 degrees Celsius, some places above 34 degrees Celsius.
Other areas will have cloudy weather, with showers and thunderstorms in some places, showers and scattered thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening, locally heavy rain.
