According to new weather forecast from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the tropical depression has weakened into a low pressure area over the Vietnam - China border area.
The low pressure area continues to move mainly in the North-Northwest direction, traveling about 15 km/h and gradually weakening.
However, people and tourists need to be on guard against heavy rain due to the impact of low pressure accompanied by the risk of flash floods, landslides, and subsidence on steep slopes and small streams in the provinces of Son La, Cao Bang, Lang Son, Quang Ninh, and Thanh Hoa.
Weather forecast for the North and Thanh Hoa on the night of August 19 and 20, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain.
The area from Nghe An to Hue and the South Central Coast will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, sunny days.
The Central and Southern Highlands will have scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places on the night of August 19 and 20, with scattered showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening.
