The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has updated the weather forecast for today and tomorrow (April 11) in regions across the country.
On April 11-12, the area from Thanh Hoa to Hue City experienced intense heat, especially intense in some places, with the highest temperature commonly 38-40 degrees C, in some places above 40 degrees C; the relative lowest humidity commonly 35-40%.
The Northwest region, Da Nang City and the east of provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak have hot and intense heat, the highest temperature is commonly 36-38 degrees C, in some places above 38 degrees C; the lowest humidity is commonly 40-45%.
The Central Highlands and Southern regions are hot, locally with intense heat, with the highest temperature commonly 35-37 degrees Celsius, in some places above 37 degrees Celsius; the lowest humidity is commonly 45-50%.
The Northeast region has localized hot sun, the highest temperature during the day in some places is above 35 degrees Celsius.
The meteorological agency warns that the hot weather in the above areas is likely to last for the next few days. From around April 14-15, the hot weather in the North, Central Highlands and South tends to gradually decrease. By around April 16-17, the hot weather in the Central provinces will also subside.
The level of natural disaster risk due to hot weather is level 1; especially the area from Nghe An to Hue is level 2.
Prolonged heat increases the risk of fires and explosions due to increased electricity demand while air humidity decreases, posing a risk of fires in residential areas as well as forest fires.
At the same time, hot weather also directly affects health, easily causing dehydration, exhaustion and increasing the risk of stroke due to heat shock when exposed to high temperatures for a long time. People and tourists need to limit going out during peak heat hours to protect their health.
