The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has updated the weather forecast for today and tomorrow (April 10) in regions across the country.
On April 10-11, hot weather continued to increase on a large scale, many areas recorded high temperatures with low humidity, causing a clear feeling of stuffiness and dryness.
From Thanh Hoa to Hue City, intense to especially intense heat appears, with the highest temperature commonly 38-40 degrees Celsius, in some places exceeding 40 degrees Celsius. The relative lowest humidity ranges from 35-40%, increasing the risk of dehydration and heat shock.
In the Northwest region and from Da Nang City to the East of Dak Lak province, hot weather is also maintained at a high level. The common temperature is 36-38 degrees Celsius, in some places above 38 degrees Celsius, while the lowest humidity is at 40-45%.
The Northeast region (except Quang Ninh, Hai Phong), along with the Central Highlands and the South, has widespread hot sun, locally experiencing intense heat. The highest temperature is commonly 35-37 degrees Celsius, in some places above 37 degrees Celsius. The lowest humidity is commonly from 45-50%, especially the Northeast region is higher, at 55-60%.
Prolonged heat increases the risk of fires and explosions due to increased electricity demand while air humidity decreases, posing a risk of fires in residential areas as well as forest fires.
At the same time, hot weather also directly affects the health of people and tourists, easily causing dehydration, exhaustion and increasing the risk of stroke due to heat shock when exposed to high temperatures for a long time.
