The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has updated the weather forecast for today and tomorrow (April 9) in regions across the country.
The area from Thanh Hoa to Da Nang city is experiencing a period of intense to extremely intense heat, with the highest temperature commonly from 38-40 degrees C, in some places exceeding 40 degrees C, the relative lowest humidity fluctuating around 35-40%.
In the eastern region of provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak, hot weather continues, locally intense in some places, the highest temperature is commonly 36-38 degrees C, in some places above 38 degrees C, the lowest humidity is from 40-45%.
In the Northwest region, hot weather prevails, some places experience intense heat with a common temperature of 35-37 degrees Celsius, some places above 38 degrees Celsius, the lowest humidity is about 40-45%. Meanwhile, the Southern Delta region, Central Highlands and Southern region record widespread hot weather with the highest temperature of 35-36 degrees Celsius, some places exceeding 36 degrees Celsius, the lowest humidity from 45-50%.
The hot weather situation in the above areas is likely to last for many days to come; especially in the Northeast region, from about April 11, the hot weather may expand widely. The level of natural disaster risk is determined to be level 1, especially in the area from Nghe An to Thua Thien Hue at level 2.
Prolonged heat increases the risk of fires and explosions due to increased electricity demand while air humidity decreases, posing a risk of fires in residential areas as well as forest fires.
At the same time, hot weather also directly affects the health of people and tourists, easily causing dehydration, exhaustion and increasing the risk of stroke due to heat shock when exposed to high temperatures for a long time.
