The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has updated the weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow (April 13) in regions across the country.
In the two days of April 13-14, hot weather continued to be maintained on a large scale, with many areas experiencing intense and especially intense heat.
In the area from Thanh Hoa to Hue City, the highest temperature is commonly 38-40 degrees Celsius, in some places exceeding 40 degrees Celsius; the lowest humidity is only about 30-35%, causing a feeling of prolonged dryness, heat, and stuffiness.
The Northwest region, Da Nang City and the east of provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak recorded the highest temperature of 36-38 degrees C, with some places above 38 degrees C; common low humidity of 35-40%.
Meanwhile, the Northeast region (except Quang Ninh - Hai Phong), the Central Highlands and Southern regions continue to have hot weather with the highest temperature of 35-36 degrees C, in some places above 36 degrees C; humidity fluctuates from 45-50%.
Forecast for April 13-14, the Central region continues to be the focus of intense and especially intense heat, while other areas maintain widespread heat.
From around April 15-16, the heat in the North, Central Highlands and Southern regions tends to gradually decrease in intensity. Especially in the Central region, the heat will continue and is likely to gradually subside from around April 17.
The heat wave is assessed at disaster risk level 1 in most areas; especially the area from Nghe An to Quang Tri is at level 2.
Prolonged heat increases the risk of fires and explosions due to increased electricity demand while air humidity decreases, posing a risk of fires in residential areas as well as forest fires.
At the same time, hot weather also directly affects the health of people and tourists, easily causing dehydration, exhaustion and increasing the risk of stroke due to heat shock when exposed to high temperatures for a long time.
