The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has updated the weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow (June 14) in regions across the country.
Intense heat will continue in the North and Central regions in the next 24 to 48 hours, the delta and midland areas of the North and many localities in the Central region will continue to experience heat, with intense heat in some places with the highest temperature exceeding 38 degrees Celsius.
According to forecasts, on June 14, the midland and delta areas of the Northern region and provinces from Thanh Hoa to Ha Tinh will maintain widespread hot weather. The highest temperature is commonly from 35-37 degrees C, in some places above 37 degrees C. The relative lowest humidity fluctuates from 55-60%, the hot weather lasts from 11 am to 4 pm daily.
From June 15, the heat in the North and the area from Thanh Hoa to Ha Tinh tends to gradually decrease in intensity.
Meanwhile, provinces from Quang Tri to Da Nang City and the eastern region of provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak continue to experience a prolonged heat wave. The highest temperature is commonly from 35-37 degrees Celsius, in some places exceeding 38 degrees Celsius. The relative lowest humidity is from 50-55%, the hot weather lasts from 10 am to 5 pm.
The meteorological agency believes that hot weather in the area from Quang Tri to Da Nang City and the east of provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak is likely to last for many days to come.
Due to the impact of hot and intense heat combined with low air humidity, the risk of fires and explosions in residential areas increases due to increased electricity demand. In addition, many forest areas also face a high risk of forest fires.
Experts also recommend that people limit working or outdoor activities during peak heat, supplement enough water and electrolytes to avoid dehydration, exhaustion or heat shock when exposed to high temperatures for a long time.
