From the evening of July 17 to the end of July 19, the mountainous and midland areas of the Northern region will experience moderate to heavy rain, with very heavy rain in some places accompanied by thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the Northern Delta region from the evening and night of July 17 has scattered showers and thunderstorms, common rainfall of 10-30mm, in some places over 50mm.
During thunderstorms, people need to be wary of extreme weather phenomena such as tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.
The meteorological agency also warned that from the night of July 19 to the morning of July 20, the mountainous and midland areas of the Northern region will continue to have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, with common rainfall of 20-50mm, locally over 100mm.
Prolonged heavy rain risks causing flooding in low-lying areas, urban areas and industrial parks, while increasing the risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams and landslides in steep slopes.
People and tourists, especially in mountainous areas, need to regularly follow weather forecasts and natural disaster warnings to proactively take preventive measures.
