The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has updated the weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow (May 24) in regions across the country.
On May 24-25, the Northern region, from Thanh Hoa to Hue and the South Central Coast will continue to experience widespread hot weather. The highest temperature is commonly 36-38 degrees, with some places above 39 degrees. Especially on May 25, the area from Thanh Hoa to Da Nang and eastern Quang Ngai may record a temperature of 37-39 degrees, with some places exceeding 40 degrees.
In the Southeast region, the highest temperature fluctuates from 35-36 degrees, in some places above 36 degrees. The lowest humidity is commonly from 40-50%, the hot weather lasts from about 10-17 hours.
The meteorological agency predicts that hot weather in the North is likely to last until about May 27-28; the Central region will maintain until about May 28, while the Southeast region will last until about May 27. The level of natural disaster risk due to hot weather is warned at level 1.
It is forecasted that in the coming days, the Northern region, the area from Thanh Hoa to Hue and the South Central Coast will continue to have intense heat during the day, with showers and thunderstorms in some places in the late afternoon and night. Especially on May 25, the area from Thanh Hoa to Da Nang and eastern Quang Ngai will experience particularly intense heat.
Prolonged dry and hot weather increases the risk of fires and explosions in residential areas due to increased electricity demand, and at the same time poses a potential risk of forest fires in many localities. Prolonged high temperatures can also cause dehydration, fatigue and exhaustion. People and tourists need to pay attention when operating outdoors for a long time.
