The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has updated the weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow (May 27) in regions across the country.
On May 27, the Northern Delta region, Phu Tho and from Thanh Hoa to Hue City continued to experience intense and especially intense heat with common temperatures of 38-40 degrees Celsius, in some places above 40 degrees Celsius. Air humidity decreased, commonly 40-45%, causing a feeling of stuffiness to last for many hours during the day.
The remaining areas in the North and the South Central Coast recorded widespread hot sun with the highest temperature of 36-38 degrees Celsius, with some places exceeding 39 degrees Celsius.
On May 28th, the heat in the North tends to decrease slightly. The midland and delta areas of the North maintain a temperature of 35-37 degrees Celsius, with some places above 37 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, from Thanh Hoa to Hue City, there is still intense heat, with common temperatures of 37-39 degrees Celsius, and some places above 39 degrees Celsius.
Forecast from May 29, widespread heat in the North will basically end, and the Central region will also gradually decrease in intensity.
In addition to hot weather, in the late afternoon and night of May 27-28, the North has the possibility of scattered showers and thunderstorms, with locally heavy rain. The South Central Coast, Central Highlands and Southern regions also have thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening, especially the South Central Coast from May 28 has places with moderate to heavy rain.
The meteorological agency warns that intense heat combined with low humidity increases the risk of fires and explosions in residential areas due to increased electricity demand, and at the same time potential for forest fires. People need to limit outdoor activities during peak sunny hours, supplement enough water and pay attention to signs of dehydration and heat shock.
