According to the rain forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from the evening of May 28 to early morning of May 30, the Northern region is forecast to have moderate rain, heavy rain with common rainfall from 40-100mm, some places have very heavy rain with total rainfall exceeding 250mm.
From early morning of May 29 to early morning of May 30, the North Central region is expected to have rain with a common amount of 30-70mm, locally over 120mm.
According to experts from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the cause of this rain is the weak cold air compressing the low pressure trough combined with an additional wind convergence area above 1,500m.
In the South Central, Central Highlands and South, rain will be mainly concentrated in the afternoon and evening from the evening of May 28 to the night of May 29, with common rainfall of 30-60mm, some places may exceed 100mm.
People and tourists need to be careful with thunderstorms. There is a risk of local rain with very high intensity, over 150mm within 3 hours, which can cause flooding, flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas.
