The period of thunderstorms and localized heavy rain in the North, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An is forecast to last for many days to come, which may affect sightseeing, tourism and travel activities, especially in mountainous areas.
In thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind, which can break and collapse trees, affecting works, traffic and tourism infrastructure. Localized heavy rain also increases the risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on slopes and flooding in low-lying areas.
