Tourists planning to visit mountainous areas or travel on mountain passes need to closely monitor weather developments to proactively adjust their schedules.
Forecast for the night of August 3rd, the North and North Central regions will continue to have showers and thunderstorms, common rainfall of 10-35mm, locally over 100mm.
Notably, from the afternoon of August 4 to the end of August 5, rain tends to increase with common rainfall of 40-80mm, many places over 130mm. The meteorological agency warns of the risk of heavy rain intensity over 100mm in 3 hours, easily causing localized flooding in urban areas and low-lying areas.
The heavy rain is forecast to last until the night of August 6. Especially from the night of August 5 to the night of August 6, the Northern and North Central regions will continue to have moderate to heavy rain, with common rainfall of 60-120mm, locally over 170mm. Total rainfall in the entire period from the afternoon of August 4 to the night of August 6 is commonly 100-200mm, some places may exceed 300mm.
Experts recommend that tourists coming to the Northern and North Central provinces limit participating in mountain climbing, trekking, camping or moving through hilly areas, streams and undercurrents during heavy rain.
