Previously, from 7 pm on August 1 to 3 am on August 2, many localities recorded heavy rainfall, including Tan Tien station (Lao Cai) reaching 95.2mm, Quang Nguyen (Tuyen Quang) 79.2mm and Cong Lan (Hung Yen) 56.4mm.
Forecast for the day and night of August 2nd, the Northern region, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, common rainfall of 10-30mm, locally over 90mm. Notably, some places may experience very heavy rain, exceeding 90mm in 3 hours.
The meteorological agency believes that thunderstorms and localized heavy rain in the North and Thanh Hoa are likely to last for many days to come, posing a risk of affecting outdoor tourism activities.
