The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has updated the weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow (June 6) in regions across the country.
On June 6-7, the Northern and Central regions will continue to experience widespread hot weather, with intense heat in many places with the highest common temperature from 35-38 degrees Celsius, locally above 39 degrees Celsius.
June 6, the midland and delta regions of the Northern region have the highest temperature from 35-36 degrees C, with some places above 37 degrees C. The relative lowest humidity is commonly 55-60%, the hot sunny time lasts from 12-16 hours.
In the area from Thanh Hoa to Da Nang City and the east of provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak, the highest temperature is commonly 35-38 degrees Celsius, in some places above 38 degrees Celsius. The lowest humidity is from 45-50%, hot weather lasts from 10-17 hours.
On June 7, hot weather in the North tended to increase slightly with the highest temperature commonly 35-37 degrees C, in some places above 37 degrees C. Meanwhile, the area from Thanh Hoa to Da Nang City and the east of provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak continued to record temperatures of 35-38 degrees C, in some places exceeding the threshold of 39 degrees C.
The meteorological agency predicts that from June 8, the heat in the Northern region will tend to gradually subside. By about June 9, the heat in the Central region will also decrease in intensity.
Due to the impact of prolonged heat combined with low air humidity, the risk of fires and explosions in residential areas, production facilities and forest fires increases. In addition, the increased demand for electricity during hot days also poses a risk of local power system overload.
Experts recommend that people and tourists should limit working or outdoor activities during hot weather, and supplement enough water and electrolytes to prevent dehydration, exhaustion or heat shock when exposed to high temperatures for a long time.
