According to the provisions of the Vietnamese Labor Code, employees are entitled to 1 day off on the Hung Kings Commemoration Day (March 10th of the Lunar calendar) and 2 days off for the April 30 - May 1 holiday.
This year's Hung Kings Commemoration holiday falls on Sunday (April 26th of the solar calendar), so workers get compensatory leave on Monday (April 27th). Thus, the total holiday period lasts 3 consecutive days, from April 25th to the end of April 27th.
For the April 30 - May 1 holiday schedule, if applying a fixed Saturday and Sunday holiday regime, employees can take 4 consecutive days off, from April 30 to May 3, including 2 holidays and 2 weekends.

Notably, these two holidays are only 2 working days apart (April 28 and April 29). After the Hung Kings Commemoration holiday ends, workers return to work for short days and then continue to enter the April 30 - May 1 holiday. The time to return to work is May 4.
Regarding the adjustment plan, the Vietnamese Ministry of Home Affairs said that it will not exchange holidays in April. This holiday schedule applies to state agencies, officials, civil servants, and public employees.
For the business sector, in addition to the prescribed holiday schedule, employers can flexibly arrange leave time based on agreements with employees, ensuring it is suitable for production and business activities.
For tourists, the fact that two consecutive holidays open up opportunities to plan long trips or break down trips. However, this is also the peak tourist season, forecasting a sharp increase in travel and accommodation demand. Tourists should actively book air tickets and hotel rooms early, or buy tours and arrange reasonable schedules to avoid overload and service price increases.
