The cold air continuously increased, the weather in the North was cold, and heavy rain continued in the Central region, with some places having total rainfall exceeding 700 mm.

According to the new weather forecast from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from now until November 15, the weak cold air will strengthen combined with the high-altitude phase change, causing the North, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An to maintain little cloud and sunny days.

However, at night the temperature drops sharply, generally 16 - 18 degrees Celsius, in mountainous areas below 13 degrees Celsius, it is cold and there is a possibility of severe cold in high mountainous areas.

From around the night of November 15 to November 18, the area from southern Quang Tri to Khanh Hoa is forecast to have moderate rain, heavy rain, common rainfall of 150 - 300 mm, locally 400 - 700 mm. The provinces most affected by the heavy rain include Hue, Da Nang, eastern Quang Ngai and Gia Lai.

Prolonged heavy rain is at risk of causing flooding in low-lying areas, urban areas and flash floods, landslides in mountainous areas.

It is forecasted that from November 16 to 21, a strong cold air mass will directly affect the weather in the North, then expand to the Central region. The temperature in the North and the Thanh Hoa - Ha Tinh area will decrease, and there may be frost in the mountains.

Due to the impact of cold air, the northern East Sea (including Hoang Sa) will have strong northeast winds of level 7 - 8, gusting to level 9 - 10, waves 3 - 5 m high, rough seas. In the Gulf of Tonkin, strong northeast winds of level 6 - 7, gusting to level 8 - 9, waves 2.5 - 3.5 m high.

The meteorological agency warned that from November 16 to 22, special attention should be paid to dangerous weather conditions caused by cold air, including widespread heavy rain in the Central region, rough seas in the East Sea and deep cold weather in the North.

Tourists need to pay attention to some recommendations after the weather fluctuates due to the strengthening of cold air:

When traveling to the North, you should prepare warm clothes, especially when traveling to mountainous areas that can be very cold. Limit outdoor activities at night and early morning when the temperature drops, avoiding the risk of colds.

When traveling to the Central region, visitors need to closely monitor weather forecasts, rain forecasts and warnings of flash floods and landslides. Avoid traveling during heavy rain or through steep passes and small streams. Prioritize staying in a safe place, limit going to sea or participating in outdoor activities during heavy rain and strong winds.

For tourists traveling by sea or cruise ship, strong cold air causes northeast winds of level 7 - 8, gusting to level 9 - 10 in the East Sea, waves 3 - 5 m high. Therefore, they should temporarily postpone trips to sea, island tours or sea sports activities until the weather is stable again.
