From the end of February to the end of April every year, Dien Bien puts on a pure white color of ban flower. In particular, around mid-March is the time when the flowers bloom at their peak, lasting 2-3 weeks, creating a beautiful natural scene.
The Ban flower in Dien Bien is divided into 2 main areas for visitors to check-in, which are the urban area and the forest area.
With the urban area, visitors can easily admire along the streets of Dien Bien Phu City and National Highway 279; Do Cat tunnel area, Dien Bien Phu Victory Monument, Linh Quang pagoda; the road from Dien Bien Phu City to Muong Ang and Muong Cha districts; Muong Lay Town Square area...
If you want to experience the more pristine and impressive beauty, visitors should explore the forest. Ban Forest in Nam cum village, Ngoi Cay commune, Muong Ang district (about 50km from the center of Dien Bien Phu city), currently has more than 1,200 ancient ban flower trees.
During the blooming season, the whole forest changes to pure white, creating a romantic scene. It is known that on March 8, 2025, Muong Ang district will organize Ban Flower Festival in Nam cum village, promising to bring many interesting experiences to visitors.
Nearly 40km from the center of Dien Bien Phu City, Du O Village, Nong U Commune, Dien Bien Dong District, visitors come here with traditional ban flower petals blooming white all over the mountains. Each banyan tree rises high, showing off its beauty in the sky and earth, creating a majestic and poetic natural picture.
The ancient ban valley in Chieu Ly village, Sa Long commune, Muong Cha district (about 40km from the center of Dien Bien Phu city), with about 5,000 concentrated ban flower trees, many ancient ban trees aged from 20 to 30 years, Chieu Ly village will be a destination not to be missed.
According to Mr. Phan Thach Thanh - Director of Dien Bien Tourism Company Limited, although the forest banh hoa is more wild and impressive, traveling to these places can be difficult due to the harsh terrain. Some destinations cannot be reached by car, requiring visitors to plan their travel carefully to ensure convenience and safety.
At this time in Dien Bien, the high mountain climate is cool in the early morning and evening. To get the most beautiful photos, visitors should choose 2 golden time frames of the day from 7am to 9am and 4pm to 5:30pm.
Especially from March 13-16, the 2025 Ban Flower Festival and the 8th Dien Bien Province Ethnic Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival will take place.
