According to data from the Statistics Office (Ministry of Finance), in the first 6 months of 2026, Vietnam welcomed nearly 12.3 million international visitors, an increase of 14.9% compared to the same period in 2025. Along with that, the tourism industry served about 81 million domestic visitors, total revenue from tourists is estimated at 569,000 billion VND. These results show that Vietnamese tourism continues to maintain positive growth momentum, increasingly affirming its position on the world tourism map.
Not only attractive by its scenic spots, Vietnam also leaves a mark on tourists thanks to its diversity in culture, indigenous life and the hospitality of the people.
Coming to Vietnam with her family for the first time, Ms. Mika (a tourist from Israel) said that this trip is not only an opportunity for rest but also an opportunity for the whole family to explore a new culture.
This is my first time to Vietnam, so everything is very new. I hope to have more opportunities to explore, from Hanoi to other places. Besides famous scenic spots, I also want to learn about Vietnamese life, culture and people," Ms. Mika shared.
For Ms. Mika, learning about indigenous culture and the daily life of local people is an important part of making the trip more meaningful.
Sharing the same feeling, Mr. Udi (Israeli tourist) said that his family plans to spend about a month exploring many localities in Vietnam. After only two days of experience, he had positive impressions of the environment, people and climate.
We plan to explore about 5-6 locations in Vietnam in a month. The streets and everywhere we go are very clean, people are extremely friendly. This is only the second day we are in Vietnam but everything is working very well. Regarding the weather, we come from the Middle East, so the climate here is quite suitable and pleasant for us," Mr. Udi said.
Not only attracting international visitors, the diversity of landscapes, cultures and cuisine also makes many domestic tourists choose to explore regions.
Ms. Trinh Cao Ngoc Tram (Can Tho City) believes that the attraction of Vietnamese tourism is not only in the scenic spots but also in the differences in culture, lifestyle and identity of each region. Each trip therefore leaves its own emotions and experiences.
I really like traveling to all regions of Vietnam. Each place has its own unique culture. The North has mountains and hills, the Central Coast has sea, and the South stands out with rivers and waters. Not only beautiful scenery, Vietnam is also attractive because of its rich culture and cuisine," Ms. Ngoc Tram shared.
From beaches, mountains, cultural heritage to traditional craft villages or modern urban areas, each region brings its own experiences for tourists. The combination of natural landscapes, cultural identity and friendly people is becoming important factors helping Vietnamese tourism become more and more widely known.
