Gratitude and honor to the Great Physician
During a pilgrimage to red addresses in Nghe An and Ha Tinh on December 29, 2024, General Secretary To Lam and the Central working delegation offered incense and flowers, respectfully paying tribute to the Great Physician at the Special National Monument of the tomb of Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac in Huong Son district, Ha Tinh province.
A few days earlier, in Ha Tinh, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with Ha Tinh province solemnly organized a ceremony to celebrate the 300th anniversary of Hai Thuong Lan Ong's birth. The ceremony was attended by Politburo member, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, many central and local leaders and a large number of Ha Tinh people.

At the ceremony, Mr. Hoang Trung Dung, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee emphasized: The fact that UNESCO honored and the Prime Minister ranked the Le Huu Trac Tomb and Memorial Area in Huong Son District as a special National Monument and the 300th anniversary of the birth of the Great Physician is an affirmation of his stature and influence in the fields of medicine, education, culture and society globally.

Mr. Jonathan Wallace Baker - Chief Representative of UNESCO Office in Vietnam - affirmed: Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac is an outstanding physician, the founder of Vietnamese traditional medicine. His contributions to medicine, culture, and folk literature have left an indelible mark in Vietnam and the world.
The Chief Representative of the UNESCO Office in Vietnam emphasized that UNESCO's decision to honor Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac is a testament to the lasting influence and universal value of his contributions to humanity.
At the ceremony, Ha Tinh was honored to receive the UNESCO Resolution honoring the famous physician Hai Thuong Lan Ong; and the Certificate of ranking as a special national monument for the Tomb and Memorial Site of Hai Thuong Lan Ong.
On this occasion, Ha Tinh Museum coordinated with Huong Son District People's Committee to organize a thematic exhibition "Great physician Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac - life and career" at Hai Thuong Lan Ong Tomb Relic.
At the Cultural - Cinema Center of Ha Tinh province (Ha Tinh city), the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province to organize the exhibition "The Heritage of Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac".

Through the exhibition, people and visitors will better understand the life, career and legacy value that the great physician Hai Thuong Lan Ong left for the Vietnamese people and the world.
Expectations for tourism to flourish thanks to Hai Thuong Lan Ong relic site
Mr. Tran Anh Nam - Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Huong Son district - shared that after UNESCO honored Hai Thuong Lan Ong at the end of 2023, in 2024, the Le Huu Trac tomb and memorial site in Huong Son attracted a sudden increase in the number of people and tourists coming to visit and make pilgrimages.
Specifically, in 2024, there are estimated to be about 80,000 - 90,000 tourists, an increase of about 4 - 5 times compared to previous years.
According to Mr. Nam, along with being honored by UNESCO, in 2024, Hai Thuong Lan Ong relic site will be restored and embellished, and ranked as a special National Monument by the Government. These are positive factors attracting tourists, promoting tourism development for Huong Son district in particular, and Ha Tinh province in general.
Huong Son district also focuses on exploiting tourism in the direction of combining spiritual tourism with tourism to experience livestock farming models, the process of processing products from deer antlers, honey beekeeping models, visiting tea hills, enjoying dishes in some ecological areas, restaurants prepared with medicinal herbs...
“I believe that in the coming time, tourism in Huong Son district will develop strongly, attracting many tourists to come here to make pilgrimages, visit, experience, enjoy specialties... Thereby, increasing budget revenue and helping to improve the lives of local people,” Mr. Nam shared.
