Hiding among the majestic limestone mountains, Doi Cave is a destination not to be missed on the journey to explore the Western region of Thanh Hoa. From the center of Thanh Hoa province, visitors traveled more than 100km to reach Kho Muong village (Pu Luong commune, formerly Thanh Son commune, Ba Thuoc district).
This cave belongs to the ancient Karst system of the Kho Muong mountain range, formed about 250 million years ago. Hang Doi is considered one of the most unique caves in the core area of Pu Luong Nature Reserve.

Coming here, visitors will be welcomed by the pure natural scenery: the green valley, the terraced fields next to each other until the foot of the mountain, along with the sound of the tearing streams and the cool air all year round.
Inside the cave is the world of the stalactites that are all shaped: there are lotus -like blocks, the blocks like the roof of the Thai people, or the white stalactites like stone waterfall from the ceiling. When the flashlight illuminated, the stalactites reflected the dim yellow light, making the scenery mysterious as a mythical world.
Going deeper into the cave, the space will expand. Notably, the "big room" area - a flat rock beach about 30m long, like a natural stage located in the heart of the mountain. In the deepest dark corners, the sound of the butterfly blades echoed. The batches hanging on the damp cave roof, waiting for the evening to fly are in the fields to find food.

With its enchanting beauty, in recent years, Doi Cave has attracted many tourists, especially international visitors, to visit and explore.
Mr. Lo Van Nam, a local tour guide who has been here for more than 10 years, shared: Hang Doi is like the rough gem of Thanh Hoa. I still remember the first time I led a group of tourists, everyone was surprised as if I had lost an ancient world in the heart of the mountain".
Once a place where Kho Muong people visit to get water or avoid the sun, Doi Cave has now become a highlight for community tourism.
According to Mr. Ha Van Thao - Head of Kho Muong village, the local government has organized many training sessions, instructing people on how to do tourism and preserve the landscape.
Up to now, many young people in the village have learned English, confidently introducing the Doi Cave and Kho Muong culture to tourists from near and far, said Mr. Thao.

In the midst of modern life, Doi Cave still retains its pure beauty, becoming a symbol of majestic nature and the enduring vitality of the Thai community in the Pu Luong mountains.
Currently, visitors to explore Hang Doi can stay at the homestay of households in Kho Muong village. To date, there are about 10 households providing tourism services, providing community tourism experiences for tourists.
