According to Resolution 60 of the 11th conference of the 13th Central Executive Committee, Quang Tri and Quang Binh are expected to merge. After the merger, the new name was Quang Tri province and the administrative center of the new province was located in the current Quang Binh.

The cave is located in the core area of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park, in Tan Trach commune, Bo Trach district, Quang Binh province.
