Binh Tay General Trinh Phong Temple is located at Thanh intersection, Dien An commune, Dien Khanh district. This relic was ranked as a national historical and cultural relic since 1991.
According to information from the Khanh Hoa Provincial Monuments Conservation Center, the temple was built in 1886, associated with a folk story.
The story goes that when Binh Tay General Trinh Phong lost the battle, he was murdered by the enemy, beheaded in Ninh Hoa and then brought back to Khanh Hoa Governor in Dien Khanh Citadel to display his head next to Song Can Bridge (now Tran Quy Cap Bridge) to warn the people.
At that time, there was a woman named Trinh Thi Xuyen who secretly brought his head back to her hometown in Phu Vinh village for burial. On the way, Ms. Xuyen was followed, and because she was afraid that the enemy would discover her, she quickly hung the cloth bag containing Trinh Phong's head on a bush next to the Dau Doi tree.
The next day, people discovered the body but did not know who the unfortunate person was, so they gave him a proper burial and built a shrine to worship him.
After a long time, there was a man who was plowing the field and suddenly became possessed. He ran straight to the Dau Doi tree and claimed to be Trinh Phong. He was murdered by the enemy, his head was displayed, and the villagers buried him, built a shrine to worship him. Now, they would like to express their gratitude.
Through the above legendary story, people around the area believe that the head in the cloth bag hanging on the elm tree in the past was Trinh Phong's head.
Since then, Am Small people are discreetly called Trinh Phong temple. Besides the relics of Double Dau Tree, there are several hundred years old associated with many historical events of the locality, so the people often take the name of the tree for the Cay Dau Temple.
Over time, the temple has been restored and embellished many times. Initially, it was just a small shrine, made of bamboo and leaves. The biggest restoration of the temple was in 2003, on the occasion of the 350th anniversary of Khanh Hoa province.
Trinh Phong Temple has been invested in to renovate the surrounding wall, gate, worship hall, main hall, and East house. In 2013, the roof was renovated and some wooden pillars in the worship hall were replaced.

The main hall hangs a wooden horizontal plaque engraved with the Han Nom characters "Van An Temple".
The door system is designed in the style of upper panels and lower panels. In the middle of the worshiping hall is a simple wooden altar, but it shows antiquity and solemnity. Over time, the temple has been renovated and embellished many times.
