Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee has just issued a plan to organize cultural and artistic activities on pedestrian streets in 4 wards of Yen Bai, Lao Cai, Sa Pa and Nghia Lo.
The highlight is building the program "Lao Cai Identity Rendezvous" into a unique cultural and tourism product, contributing to enriching tourist experiences and promoting the night economy.
According to the plan, "Lao Cai Identity Rendezvous" is organized according to an open cultural space model, combining art performances, traditional cultural experiences and community tourism activities.
Instead of just stage performances, the pedestrian street space will aim to increase interaction, so that people and tourists can directly participate and experience local cultural values.
Expected activities include traditional handicraft performances, introduction of local cuisine, promotion of tourism products, community exchanges, street art and many unique cultural activities.
Each locality will build a separate theme, based on cultural identity, tourism potential and urban space characteristics.

With Sa Pa, a place where the cultural colors of H'Mong, Dao, Tay, Giay, Xa Pho... people converge, nighttime activities are expected to add experiences for millions of visitors to the national tourist area each year.
Meanwhile, Nghia Lo is associated with the Muong Lo cultural space, Thai Xoe dances and the typical community life of the Northwest region. Yen Bai and Lao Cai wards also have advantages in urban space, commerce and connecting tourists.
The program will be held periodically on Saturday evenings every week in a rotating form between 4 localities. Each locality takes on a program during the month, forming a continuous series of activities serving people and tourists.
The selected locations include Hao Gia pedestrian street (Yen Bai ward), Dinh Le pedestrian street (Lao Cai ward), Quan yard area (Sa Pa ward) and Golden Field Square (Nghia Lo ward).
Specifically in July 2026, Yen Bai ward is expected to open Hao Gia Pedestrian Street on the evening of July 16, associated with the activities of the Lao Cai Provincial Investment Promotion Conference.
The formation of the "Lao Cai Identity Rendezvous" chain in 4 localities is expected to create more nighttime tourism products, extend stays and increase tourist spending.
Through this, the unique cultural values of the Northwest region are not only preserved in the community but also gradually become experiential products, contributing to increasing the attractiveness of Lao Cai tourism on the tourism map of the Midlands and Northern Mountains.
