With an altitude of over 700 meters above sea level, Cam Mountain (Cam Mountain Commune), one of the 7 famous sacred mountains in the That Son range, is not only considered the roof of An Giang, but also of the Mekong Delta.
Coming here, in addition to enjoying the fresh air, the desolate scenery of pristine nature with ancient forests all year round, the sound of young leaves calling for the wind, of the water lilies calling for the flock... tourists also have the opportunity to worship the land of Buddha.
Here, next to the old squares that are hundreds of years old, the history of formation is full of sacred colors with legendary monks, such as the Great Buddha Pagoda, La Pagoda...
In particular, in 2005, there was an additional statue of Di Lac over 30 meters high made of reinforced cement with a total weight of over 1,700 tons, established as "The largest statue of Buddha Di Lac on the top of a mountain in Vietnam" (2003) and "The largest statue of Buddha Di Lac on the top of a mountain in Asia" (2013).
In 2015, Cam Mountain continued to receive new relics. On October 13, 2015, after being invited from India to Vietnam, 5 Buddha's Rosary were brought to the tower in front of the Great Buddha Pagoda. The tower was built on Thuy Liem Lake, a natural lake on the top of Cam Mountain, in the shape of a borage with unique architecture due to the blend of India - Vietnam.
Located in the mountains and forests all year round, the surface of the lake is filled with blue sweet water like a mirror created by heaven... creating a sacred quality for Buddhist architecture. And so it has become an un must-see destination for those who want to seek peace, calmness, and wash the red robes.
