Admire the city from Phai Ve Flagpole
Located in Dong Kinh ward, Phai Ve Flagpole is a free sightseeing spot right in the city center of Lang Son. The project is built on Phai Ve mountain, where there are archaeological sites dating back thousands of years.
To get to the flagpole area, visitors must climb 535 stone steps along the mountainside. From above, the panoramic view of the city with roads, residential areas and surrounding mountain ranges appears in sight.
In addition to Phai Ve Flagpole, visitors can visit the Lang Son Citadel in Luong Van Tri ward. This is the remaining vestige of an ancient military structure, which is currently not subject to entrance fees.
Hunting for Mau Son clouds, exploring ancient sacred land
About 30km from the center of Lang Son, Mau Son is a suitable choice for tourists who want to avoid the crowded atmosphere during the holidays.
The Mau Son range has an average altitude of 800-1,000m, including more than 80 large and small mountains. winding roads, forests, cloud cover and cool air create a typical landscape of the Northeast mountains.

Visitors can stroll around the central area, admire old villas, hunt for clouds or combine visiting the ancient sacred land of Mau Son.
This relic is located at an altitude of about 1,190m, dating from the 10th century to the early 20th century and was ranked as a national relic in 2013.
The tourist center and the ancient land of Mau Son are currently non-expendable. However, tourists need to follow the weather forecast and limit travel when heavy rain or thick fog occurs because the pass road has many curves and slopes.
Strolling through Quynh Son village, learning about Tay culture
Quynh Son community tourism village is located in the middle of Bac Son valley, about 180km from Hanoi. The destination impresses with hundreds of traditional stilt houses of the Tay people, yin and yang tiled roofs, fields and streams winding around the village.
Visitors can walk on the village road, learn about stilt house architecture, visit Quynh Son communal house or observe the daily production and living activities of the people.

In 2025, Quynh Son was honored by the United Nations Tourism Organization in the Best Tourist Village program. This is also one of the destinations belonging to UNESCO Lang Son Global Geopark.
Journey to the source in Bac Son, Chi Lang
From Quynh Son village, visitors can combine to the Bac Son Uprising Museum in Long Hung village, Bac Son commune.
The museum is built in the shape of a traditional stilt house of the Tay people. The interior space displays documents, images and artifacts according to three themes including Bac Son prehistoric period, Bac Son Uprising and the local process of promoting revolutionary traditions.
The destination currently does not charge entrance fees. Because holidays may adjust service schedules, tourists should contact in advance to confirm the opening time.
Another historical site suitable for the National Day journey is Chi Lang Pass, located on the old National Highway 1A, about 50km from the center of Lang Son.
The valley is nearly 20km long, surrounded by high mountains on all sides, once held a dangerous position on the road from the border to the inland. This place is associated with many resistance wars against foreign invaders, notably the victory in 1427 of the Lam Son insurgents over the Minh army.
If the schedule coincides with Saturday evening, visitors can visit the Hung Vuong Street Cultural Space, Luong Van Tri ward.
The street operates from 7:30 PM to 10:30 PM, with traditional and modern art programs, folk games, heritage education activities and OCOP product introduction booths.
