In the middle of March, when the dry sun begins to dye the trees yellow instead of leaves, Hanoi suddenly becomes gentler thanks to the appearance of lilies. Not too brilliant or beautiful, this flower chooses a simple white color to "awake up", signaling a new season is knocking on the streets.
On roads such as Thuy Khue, Phan Dinh Phung, Nguyen Trai or Dinh Tien Hoang... that white color has covered the flower carts, attracting attention.

Lilies, also known as lilies, do not bloom year-round but only appear in one season. Lilies usually start from the end of March and bloom in April. To have early-season flowers, farmers must fertilize bulbs from September of last year. It is just the beginning of the season, the number of flowers is still small, so the price is quite high.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy (a flower seller on Thuy Khue street) said that lilies imported usually sell out during the day. Customers mainly buy them to go to festivals, take photos or put them indoors. However, compared to usual, this year flowers are selling quite slowly because the price is still high at the beginning of the season, and the flower buds have just begun to turn green and have not yet bloomed profusely.

Although flowers are not cheap, many flower lovers still take advantage of buying first-season loudspeaker bunches to decorate their homes.
Ms. Le Thi Luu (60 years old, Thanh Xuan ward) shared: "The whole year is just waiting for this season. For me, loudspeakers represent the elegance of old Hanoi people. Just a white flower vase placed in the living room and the whole space becomes brightly lit.
Although they look elegant and fragile, lilies have quite durable vitality if cared for properly. According to small traders, to keep flowers fresh for a long time and bloom evenly, sellers must water the branches thoroughly. When buying, people should choose single branches, large flowers, thick petals, green leaves and many veins. Strong flower branches will give a strong fragrance and maintain freshness longer when placed in offices or houses.

Ms. Sang (a long-time flower vendor) confided: "The lilies flower season usually starts from mid-March, but it is not until April that they are really plentiful. A good seed bulb can yield more than 10 flowers. Although sensitive to the weather, if you know how to arrange them, flowers can last for a whole week.
In the midst of the bustling pace of life, stopping by a flower car, choosing white loudspeaker branches for yourself, people suddenly realize that the beauty of Hanoi sometimes lies only in such simple and pure things.
