At the end of the year, on the hillsides in Mi Hang village (Mu Cang Chai commune), Trong Tong village (Pung Luong commune, Lao Cai province), the yellow amber flowers bloom pink, interwoven with the green of the mountains and forests and the brown color of the land.
The flower carpets are long, covering the mountain passes, creating a colorful picture of the highlands, both rustic and brilliant.

With each flower blooming, many tourists come to visit and admire.
"The scenery of the hills and mountains still retains its original appearance, the brilliant color of the flowers makes me feel like being immersed in the natural picture of the highlands," said Mr. Ngo Duy Dung - a tourist from Hanoi.
As a person born and raised in Mu Cang Chai, currently a tour guide in the commune, Mr. Giang A Sua said - compared to previous years, this year To Day flowers bloomed earlier. At some high hills in the area, the flowers have showed off their brilliant colors.

"The thick melon flowers start to bloom from high mountains to low ground because the cold weather will let the flowers bloom earlier," said Mr. Sua.
According to Mr. Sua, when he learned the information, many tourists called to advise, schedule, and book tours quite a lot. If from now until the end of 2025, the weather is like now, the To Day flowers will bloom all over the forests.
Previously, flowers grew naturally because the seeds fell and sprouted themselves when conditions were favorable. Local people often come here to make firewood, peel trees to make musical instruments, tools...

In recent years, flowers have bloomed more and become more beautiful, attracting tourists to visit, thereby developing accommodation services, tours, motorbike taxis, taking photos... creating a new source of income for people. Gradually, the dense amber forests are being preserved and planted to serve tourists.
"Under the guidance of local authorities and the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in all communes, cooperative groups for tourism have been built, posters, tour guides, homestays, restaurants... to form a chain of links, unify prices, support each other in local tourism promotion activities", said Mr. Giang A Sua.

Mr. Le Xuan Duong - Director of the Center for Communication and Culture of Mu Cang Chai commune - said that the local government has developed a plan to organize the Khen Mong Festival, To Day Flower Festival and a series of activities to welcome Spring 2026, expected to take place from December 31, 2025 to the end of January 2026, with many rich and special programs.
The activities aim to promote and disseminate traditional cultural values; strengthen connections and develop tourism in a sustainable direction, while contributing to preserving and promoting the cultural identity of the H'Mong ethnic group in the area.
