The Thai government would like to thank Lisa (BLACKPINK) for her influence in stimulating tourism.

According to The Straits Times, the Thai government recently sent its thanks to Lisa (BLACKPINK) for her contribution to promoting tourism in this country.

The film "The white lotus" aired in February this year with the participation of the female singer has helped a series of famous tourist destinations such as Koh Samui, Phuket and Bangkok grow significantly.

Specifically, Koh Samui has welcomed a 65% increase in tourists from the US since "The White Lotus" aired on HBO channel.

According to The Straits Times, the number of searches for accommodation on Koh Samui via Agoda has increased by 12%, making Thailand one of the 5 most searched destinations on the platform. In addition, the number of luxury hotel bookings such as Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui, Anantara Lawana Koh Samui Resort, Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas and Anantara Bophut Koh Samui Resort also increased by 40%.

The film was also filmed at Mu Ko Ang Thong National Park, Choeng Mon beach, Koh Pha Ngan island... It is predicted that in the coming time, the number of tourists visiting these places will skyrocket.

Last year, Thailand welcomed 35.5 million foreign tourists, up 26% over the same period last year and set a target of welcoming 40 million visitors in 2025.

In "The white lotus", Lisa plays Mook, a hotel hostess who always dreams of a brighter future but faces many obstacles because she is a local. She has a simple look, with disjointed hair, completely different from a seductive, sexy image on stage.

"The white lotus" is a famous comedy and satire series that takes interwoven stories set in the luxurious White Lotus hotel. This is also Lisa (BLACKPINK)'s first film when she decided to enter the acting field.

Lisa's real name is Lalisa Manobal, born in Buriram, Thailand. Debuting as a member of BLACKPINK in 2016, Lisa quickly won the sympathy of fans thanks to her beauty like a doll and impressive dancing ability.

After leaving YG Entertainment in December 2023, Lisa continued to develop her solo career impressively. She founded her own management company called LLOUD in February 2024 and signed a contract with RCA Records in April of the same year to release solo music products.
